Faith has twin pillars. The twin pillars of FAITH are BELIEF and SUBMISSION TO THE WILL OF GOD. Faith is more than just believing, because as James tells us- Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19 Faith also includes submission to the will of God- But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:20,26 And what would these works be? If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15 An example of the believing aspect of faith- And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mark 9:24 - And He put forth His hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. Luke 5:13 An example of faith by works, by obeying the command of God, - SEE section on Abraham and Faith.
