Cycles of History

Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. Deuteronomy 32:7 (The following Theory of generations and cycles of history is from the book Generations by Strauss & Howe).

There are four types of generations that repeat themselves and four parts to each cycle of history. The 4 parts of a historical cycle: 1) springlike HIGH 2) long hot summer of a SPIRITUAL AWAKENING 3) cooling off of the autumnlike UNRAVELING and 4) the cold winter CRISES. The 4 types of generations are Adaptive, Idealistic, Reactive and Civic. Aslo, there are four parts to the Crises Era-the Spark, Regenerance, Climax and Resolution. We are now in the crises era of our four part cycle. The spark was 9-11. We are living through the regenerance (War-on-terror, Katrina, Swine flu scare, energy crises, the "great-recession",etc.). The climax is always a war where you can't afford to loose.

Question: Who put the cycles of human history in motion and for what purpose?Are the cycles leading to eventually the ultimate crises era? The Time of Trouble and the End? --- NOW DON'T THINK I'M SAYING THIS TIME WILL BE THE END. I'M NOT. Rather, I'm wondering how this all fits. It must serve a purpose. Even Solomon refers to 4 generational types- 1) There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. Proverbs 30:11 2) There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. Proverbs 30:12 3) There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. Proverbs 30:13 4) There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. Proverbs 30:14 Apparently this churning of history keeps things moving and from becoming stale. A reference to the 4th generation is made in the Commandments- visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; Exodus 20:5 These generational/historical cycles must exist in a certain order for a reason. Some would point out that in this crises era, at the start, the world already has nuclear, chemical and biological weapons. To cripple the economy so bad is the energy dependecy. For we know what the sides will be militarily and who has the bulk of the oil-energy supply (and therefore the ability to cut it off)? Then theres cyber-warfare, the race between the U.S. and China for nano-technology, terror cells to unleash, not to mention the seas and waves roaring, as in Katrina and the Tsunami in the Pacific. Will California finally be hit with the Big-One? You could see in this crises era a totla global war erupting to the death between Islam allied with China and its proxiy N. Korea (and the rag-tag coalition of Hugo Chavez) on one side and the rest of the world on the other. Question becomes what of the wild card Russia? As for signs in the sun and sky, we are told by astronomers to be expecting some sort of solar flare activity between 2010-2012 that could wipe out electrical capabilities on earth. Add a finacial meltdown and collapse, and you could see the way for the enforcement of the mark of the beast - And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Revelation 13:17 And then there is the sign about knowledge increasing-...the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4 Again, I'm not saying this crises era will be the end, for who knows? And since no man knows the day or hour, and it will come as a thief in the night, the end could come during a peaceful era. Just something to think about.

One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh... Ecclesiastes 1:4 The doubters will ask And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 2 Peter 3:4 But like when the fullness of time came for His birth, so too for His return. The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. Psalm 14:1
