It is thought by cosmologists and astro-physicists that there is a 4th dimension to the universe which makes it thin compared to the other three dimensions. Some call it "hyper-space" where the space-time continuum can be bent. If so, then the universe could be "rolled-up" like a scroll.
And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: Isaiah 34:4 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. Revelation 6:14
