The term Abba Father reflects a tender loving bond.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Romans 8:15
We have been adopted back into the family of God---it is also symbolic for the covenant relationship we have with Him as His "sons".
When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt. Hosea 11:1
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Galatians 4:6
Christ became as one of us--and spoke to God as such......
And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. Matthew 14:36
He is not a father who is called God; he is God who is called a father.
