Praise GOD for HE is Wonderful

Where Were They?

Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; Psalm 107:10

Why?

Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: Psalm 107:11

Then....

.........they fell down, and there was none to help. Psalm 107:12

Then What?

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. Psalm 107:13,14

The Result:

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! Psalm 107:15

*)thou hast visited me in the night;

*)thou hast tried me,

and shalt find nothing; Psalm 17:3

After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 1 Corinthians 15:6

My Prayer

Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Psalm 5:1-3

Pray for the Remnant

And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:) Jeremiah 42:2

The Lord will hear

But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself:

1) the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

a) Stand in awe,

b) and sin not:

c) commune with your own heart upon your bed,

d) and be still. Psalm 4:3,4

The Meat-Not Milk

For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:13,14

"The failures and mistakes of ancient Israel are not as grievous in the sight of God as are the sins of the people of God in this age. Light has been increasing from age to age, and the generations that follow have the example of the generations that went before..." Review and Herald 5/21/1895

The Fatherless Orphans

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,... James 1:27

"All who profess to have a Father in heaven, who they hope will care for them and finally take them to the home He has prepared for them, ought to feel a solemn obligation resting upon them to be friends to the friendless and fathers to the orphans, to aid the widows, and be of some practical use in this world by benefiting humanity. He stands there in the person of the poor, the homeless orphans, and the afflicted widows, who need love, sympathy, affection, and encouragement. If you do it not upon one of these, you would not do it unto Christ were He upon the earth. Now is your sowing time. You will reap that which you sow. Avail yourselves while you may of every privilege to do good." Testimonies for the Church vol.2, p.329,330

The Fit Man

And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: Leviticus 16:21

The Fit Man who takes the scapegoat far away so it never returns is symbolic of God sending away (to permanent destruction) Lucifer (the scapegoat) forever removed from God and His people.

Scripture cannot be Broken

......and the scripture cannot be broken; John 10:35 The word of God is sure.

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:11

The Voice of Joy

The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: Jeremiah 33:11

Example of Nehemiah

Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah; And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. Nehemiah 2:4,7,8

"God's children are not only to pray in faith, but to work with diligent and provident care. They encounter many difficulties and hinder the working of providence in their behalf, because they regard prudence and painstaking effort as having little to do with religion...Careful consideration and well-matured plans are as essential to the carrying forward of sacred enterprises today as in the time of the rebuilding of Jerusalem's walls." Prophets and Kings p.633,634

Sabbath-Keep from polluting it

Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. Isaiah 56:2

Preaching of the Cross

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18

Rising to going down of the sun

The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. Psalms 50:1

Character of God

And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; Exodus 34:5-7

Christian Doctors

Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you. Colossians 4:14

"The work of the Christian physician does not end with healing the maladies of the body; his efforts should extend to the diseases of the mind, to the saving of the soul....the duties of the physician are arduous. Few realize the mental and physical strain to which he is subjected....Many, knowing how trying are these duties of the physician and how few opportunities physicians have for release from care, even upon the Sabbath, will not choose this for their lifework. But the great enemy is constantly seeking to destroy the workmanship of God's hands, and men of culture and intelligence are called upon to to combat his cruel power. More of the right kind of men are needed to devote themselves to this profession." Testimonies for the Church vol.5, p.443,446

A Symmetrical Character in the sight of God

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18

"Tears are not in every case evidences of weakness. In order for you to build up a character which is symmetrical in the sight of a pure and holy God you must begin at the foundation. The heart must be broken before God, and true repentance for sin must be shown." Testimonies for the Church vol.3, p.459

Tithe: Its Simplicity & Beauty of the System

Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Malachi 3:8

For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; Hebrews 7:1,2

"God's plan in the tithing system is beautiful in its simplicity and equality. All may take hold of it in faith and courage, for its divine in its origin. In it are combined simplicity and utility, and does not require depth of learning to understand and execute it......He has given his blood; He asks our silver. it is through His poverty that we are made rich: and will we refuse to give back to Him His own gifts?...Systematic benevolence should not be made systematic compulsion. It is freewill offerings that are acceptable to God." Testimonies for the Church vol.3, p.388,390,395

A Lesson in Mercy

And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. Luke 9:54-56

James nails it

What causes wars, and what causes fightings among you? Is it not your passions that are at war in your members? You desire and do not have; so you kill. And you covet and cannot obtain; so you fight and wage war. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. James 4:1-3 RSV

After that.....

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Titus 3:4

"The truth as it is in Jesus can be experienced, but never explained. its height, and breadth, and depth pass our knowledge....We may strain our imagination to its utmost, and then we shall only see dimly the outline of a love that is unexplainable, that is as high as heaven, but that stooped down to earth to stamp the image of God on all mankind." Signs of the Times 6/16/1898

Mystery of Iniquity

These two phrases, "Mystery of Godliness" and "Mystery of Iniquity" occur only once each in scripture. The mystery of iniquity would be a counterfeit to the mystery of Godliness in this world.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: 2 Thessalonians 2:7

Mystery of Godliness

And without controversy great is the mystery of Godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16

"In the councils of heaven the Lord planned to reshape the broken, perverted characters of man, and to restore to them the moral image of God. This work is termed the mystery of Godliness." Signs of the Times 7/2/1896
